CHILD MOLESTATION: What is it with pedophiles?

Hello blog readers and followers… Good afternoon and Welcome to my blog! 

Today, we shall be looking at child molestation. 

So, few days back, I was listening to the news on a radio set and this particular story of a 65 year-old man who molested a 2 year old girl child hit me real hard! 

I have been hearing stories relating to this, but this particular one got me thinking!!! Why on earth will an old man abuse an innocent child of 2? 

This incident happened in owerri, the capital of Imo state. 

Apparently, the girl’s mother had to go somewhere urgently, so she dropped her child with her neighbour ( the 65 year old man). On getting back, she discovered that her child had been molested ( blood and water were coming out of the child’s private part! So sad:'(). 

WHO IS A PEDOPHILE? 

A pedophile is a person who is sexually attracted to prepubescent children. 

WHAT IS PEDOPHILIA OR PAEDOPHILIA

This is a psychiatric disorder in which an adult or older adolescent experiences a primary or exclusive sexual attraction to prepubescent children. 

A person who is diagnosed with pedophilia must be at least 16 years old, but adolescents must be at least five years older than the prepubescent child for the attraction to be diagnosed as pedophilia.

Who Is To Blame? 

This menace has been on for a very long time and the sad thing is that there is no cure for this psychiatric disorder. 

Sometimes, a father does it to his own child(ren), uncle to cousins, and so on. 

This particular incident that took place in Owerri some few days back, who is to blame? Is it the mother that left her child with her neighbour to look after? The little girl? Or the old man? 

It is quite obvious that our society will blame the child’s mother, but it shouldn’t be so! 

I personally think the 65 year old man is to blame! 

A word of advise to mothers !  

Be careful with who you leave your female children with…. Be sensitive and observant!
